The Story
The California Surf played at Anaheim Stadium from 1978 to 1981 before eventually folding in 1981 to become the California Stars. Even though the California Surf were a strong team in the NASL, it wasn't enough to keep the white and blue in Anaheim. With players like Peter Bonetti & Paul Cahill donning the blue and white in Anaheim, California Surf should have been able to fill seats. The reality however was much different and with low attendance, the California Surf was soon reformed to play the 1984 season as the California Stars.
