The Story
With players like Willie Somerset & DeWitt Menyard gracing the court for the Houston it's a shame they didn't make it to the big show. Houston Mavericks played in Sam Houston Coliseum from 1967 to 1969 before eventually folding and moving operations to Greensboro in 1969 to become the Carolina Cougars. When the ABA and NBA merged in 1976 the glory of the Houston Mavericks was retired to the rafters of Basketballs past glory.
