The Story

Lead by legendary players like Pearl Washington and coach Jim Boeheim, the teams of the 1980s brought Syracuse basketball to national prominence and helped usher the Big East into the spotlight. Syracuse's dominance on the court and their tough home environment (they led the entire NCAA in attendance) earned them the nickname "Beast of the East."
